Im moving to Canberra in January and everywhere I look online for apartments take me to hotel websites that charge like 700 a week. Are there any actual apartment complexes or their equivalent that offer year long leases at a reasonable rate?

Yes there are mate, you just have to look at the right places and websites.
have you considered Capital Tower thats the apartment name? its just 3mins walking distance to ANU i know because i live there. but its not as expensive too i pay about $240/perweek( very safe 24hr security). Sharing with 1 other person. nice view and enough space and walking distance to Uni (ANU).
